LWSA is all about promoting sailing and it is equally as committed to removing barriers to sailing.

LWSA promotes sailing by:

• Teaching kids how to sail - these are our future lifelong sailors

• Teaching adults how to sail - it is never too late to take up this wonderful pastime

• Providing opportunity and community - to participate in racing and group sailing 

​

We remove barriers by:

• Securing and providing generous financial aid to youth from every quarter

• Collaborating with town parks & rec departments to being community access to sailing lessons

• Collaborating with organizations that work with the disabled, developmentally challenged, and wounded veterans to host sailing events/experiences.

We are looking to the future to enhance promotion of sailing and removal of barriers to sailing by:

• Reaching out to more groups and organizations to bring groups of people out on our boats so that they can experience sailing and the wonders of working together amid wind and water.

• Planning and developing in stages over the coming years an adaptive sailing program to provide sailing opportunities to physically-challenged or disabled people of all ages.
